Bailey’s boyfriend.
Posted on February 25, 2010
Yesterday I was thinking of my life and my happiness and while conversing with my friend Angie about it all she told me to do something out of the ordinary to make the day special. I thought she was crazy but when Gray and I went to pick up the girls from preschool they both came charging out, full speed ahead with smiles to light the world on their faces. Both were in terrific moods and so on the spur of the moment I took all three kids out to lunch at Bread Co. By myself. Something I never do.
And while there we were eating our soup and chatting. Just me and the kids girls. And that’s when mid-bite Bailey casually mentions that she has a boyfriend.
A WHAT?
Are you 4 or 14?
Instead of TOTALLY FREAKING OUT I just as casually asked, “who?”
“Jacob.”
“And why is Jacob your boyfriend?”
“Well, today we were going potty and he asked me to come to his house to jump on his trampoline. So now he’s my boyfriend.”
“Oh really? Because he wants you to come over?”
“Yeah, but I told him I couldn’t come over because I don’t know where his house is.”
And that was the end of that.
Well, until I told Chris later that night and he nearly fainted. I think he was ready to march upstairs where our sweet little four year old slept and give her THE TALK! I calmed him down and good thing because today she came home from preschool and told me that Jacob was mean to her today so he’s not her boyfriend anymore.
HA! Men!
Oh goodness, Jodie. Not to scare you further or anything, but when I was a kid, I didn’t have the usual collection of imaginary pets or anything like that. Oh no, I had imaginary boyfriends. I still remember some of them – like Chokey (yup, Chokey) who was blue and could fly. Or Brian. Oh Brian. I made my dad, a pastor mind you, PRAY for Brian once because he was “in the hospital”. My poor parents…
Hang in there.
Oh, and it’s good to see you back here on this blog. Really.
YIPPEE! Jodified is back, baby. I missed ‘her’ too and was confused/thrilled to see my Google reader show a new Jodified post. I feel like an old friend, a great/insightful/fun/honest old friend, just came back to town.
Now about Bailey’s boyfriend, well 5-year-old Kate announced that her boyfriend is Jasper (also a Blue Room man). That was until last night. We were watching American Idol and big sis L asked if judge Ellen was married. I said, “Yes.” “To who, Mom?” “Her name is Portia de Rosi.” “Do you mean HIS name?” “No, Ellen is married to a lady who she loves.” Kate springs off the couch: “Awesome. Now I can marry Bailey!”
LOL. Too cute!
just realized you were posting again and i was so excited!
glad to see jodified back, you could take it back to A Mom and Her Camera.
glad your back…
HILARIOUS!! Boy, I can’t wait for that!!
That is hilarious! And I cannot wait for her to have real boyfriends because I think the stories of Chris trying to intimidate them will be awesome.
Also, I agree with Angie about trying to make days special. I was in a funk today and so when Sam woke up from her nap (okay, when I gave up on her trying to take a nap!) I threw her in the car and we went and found a new bakery and bought several ridiculously large cookies! She loved picking them out and I will thoroughly enjoying eating them tonight we her and Chris get home from swimming! She doesn’t like cookies much so she probably won’t eat her but it was fun either way.
