newborn posing and why i can never decide.
Posted on May 1, 2009
I LOVE shooting newborns. They might MIGHT be my favorite subjects.
But I am always torn on the posing of them.
I mean, I love a good newborn photo. One that is just perfect in it's sweetness. Like this one:
But do you know how long it took to get this shot? At least an hour. And not that I am unwilling to be patient and wait for them to be sleepy enough to pose them like this, I actually LIKE taking the time to do this, but I go back and forth between the POSING of newborns and the LETTING THEM BE.
Babies don't look like this naturally! That little guy didn't climb up on his brothers back after taking his own diaper off and fall sound asleep! And that is where I am stuck.
I live for capturing moments. That is what I preach. No posing, MOMENTS. But then I get my hands on a baby or two and I spend the majority of my time posing them!
And although I really do LOVE these kind of photos:
I've decided to also try to get more natural photos of babies. Just living life and doing what they do!
I love that.
Moving and squirming and yawning and crying and just BEING A BABY.
So anyway.
I love babies!
And these sweet little guys, Jack and Finn, where the cutest! And my very first set of twins! I hope I have a million more sets b/c they were SO much fun…
So I just can't decide.
To pose or not to pose.
I'm sure I i will continue to do both, but I am definitely loving the non-posed one BEST right now!

Thank you Andy + Maureen + Finn + Jack for letting me come hang out with you guys! I hope you love these as much as I do!

TODAY: We have been UP AND ATTUM! Chores are getting done, naps have been taken (by the littlest of the little), breakfast has been eaten, emails have been answered, art projects have been done and it is 9am! Oh boy I can already tell it's going to be a busy day! We are headed to the grocery store and the bank. Maybe out for a walk if the rain holds off. More art projects if it doesn't. Considering making a good dinner but giving myself a break if I don't.
And I could go on but the natives are getting restless so OFF WE GO!
